This ‘All The Ladies – Mums, Daughters and more’ retreat is hosted by London-based psychotherapist Khalida Haque, and Editor of Fitra Journal and writing workshop facilitator Brooke Benoit.
What opportunities do we have to take a break from the hustle and bustle of our lives? Imagine a week away in the company of great sisters from around the globe in a private lakeside riad with an indoor heated pool. Wonderful, yes? Now add to that the chance to take along a loved younger (or older – there is no upper age restriction) someone or two to share the experience with. It can be really difficult finding the time to bond or strengthen a bond when we are caught up in everyday. All The Ladies retreat has been arranged because we listened to you telling us that you wanted (and needed) time away with your girls – your daughter(s) and/or all the womenfolk you love and have a familial bond with. We have all the fun and sunnah-based activities that make The Big Reconnect Sleepover what it is – and added a few elements to make it even more (female) family friendly.
Fees for the All The Ladies – A Female Family Retreat are completely inclusive of double occupancy (triple if you bring two loved ones), all activities below and all meals save the few we will eat while out and about.

Monday December 18th, Day One – Asalam alaikum!
- Arrivals- Brooke will pick you up at the airport or other meeting point if you fly in before the 18th

Tuesday December 19th, Day Two – Pamper, Relax and Refresh Day
- Early swim in the heated private indoor pool
- Full and fresh breakfast
- Guided visualisation to bring the mind and body to a calm restful state
- Modest spa pampering of ‘the vessel’
- Lunch on the go (at a very special location especially for the youngest retreaters!)
- Tour of the beautiful late nineteenth century Bahia Palace
- Group prayer for those available
- Dinner and discussion
Wednesday December 20th, Day Three – Messy, Earthy Play Day*
- Early swim in the heated private indoor pool
- Full and fresh breakfast
- Pottery workshop – traditional Moroccan painting on pottery, you take home your piece
- Lunch – eating out
- Group prayer for those available
- Free time – more swimming? Walking around the lake? Photographing the exquisite scenery? Taking a nap? Do whatever you need to!
- Dinner and discussion
*The majority of the private or family counselling sessions will occur on Wednesday, as needed and wanted.
Thursday December 21st, Day Four – Nature and Nurture
- Early swim in the heated private indoor pool
- Full and fresh breakfast
- Ride a camel into the foothills, connect to the Sahaba, and enjoy the views!
- Guided imagery exercise to reconnect to Sustainer.
- Group prayer for those available
- Creative activity (writing or art/craft, supplies provided)
- Dinner and discussion
Friday December 22nd, Day Five – Jummah Prayer and Sightseeing in the Dazzling Red City – Marrakech
- Early, early swim in the heated private indoor pool
- Quick but delicious breakfast
- Jummah at the iconic and spectacular Koutoubia Mosque in Marrakech
- Lunch in the bustling J’ma el Fna
- Visit to the historic Ben Yousef Madrassa
- Shopping and souvenir hunting in Marrakech’s dazzling souks
- Dinner and discussion back at the riad
- Creative activity
Saturday December 23rd, Day – Challenging the Self and Psyche
- Early swim in the heated private indoor pool
- Breakfast
- Drive out to Ourika Valley, hike along the glorious Setti Fatma waterfall and enjoy traditional, coal cooked tagines.
- Guided imagery to still the mind and listen to your heart
- Group prayer for those available
- Dinner and discussion back at the riad

Sunday December 24th – Final Salams

*You are welcome to participate in as few or as many of the activities as you feel inclined to. We hope that you will push yourself out of your comfort zone and challenge yourself – a little or a lot and as feels right. We also encourage you to take time for yourself and the family member(s) you have come with, enjoy the beautiful lakeside views on the riad’s roof, take dips in the heated pool, go for walks along the shore and get plenty of rest as well as bonding time.
About ‘Mum and Daughter’ Counselling Sessions or Individual time
When you register for the retreat we will ask if you would like to reserve a counselling session with Khalida. These are very limited and so will be allocated on a first come first served basis. They will last 45/50 minutes which is otherwise known as the therapeutic hour. These sessions will be private and confidential spaces in which ‘mum and daughter’ can explore their relationship and how they might make it better. Or if an individual session you may want to share something that you have not shared with anyone else before. In this time you are unlikely to attain full resolution. However insha’Allah it may put you on a path to seeking further help by removing some of the fear and stigma that may have been an obstacle to your addressing these matters at all. There may be slots available during the retreat, but we encourage you to book them ahead of time.

Fees
If arranged individually this retreat, with the dozens of activities, tours, workshops, local transportation, meals, and beautiful accommodation would cost upwards to £1500 per person or even more. We have worked hard to find the best deals for you as well as making this retreat a “principled purchase” by supporting many women-owned and family businesses, as well as non-profits as we can. The cost of the retreat is £950 per person, with an offer to add a third family member at just £800. Most rooms in our lush, modern riad are double occupancy with bathroom en suite, there are only three rooms available for triple occupancy. Flights are not included.
